TUM CREATE is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to join our Urban Mobility Systems cluster. You will contribute to cutting-edge research on connected and autonomous vehicles, multi-modal transport planning, and smart city integration, with applications specifically designed for Singapore’s high-density urban environment.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, computer scientists, and urban planners, you will design and execute research projects, publish findings in top-tier academic journals, and collaborate closely with Singapore government agencies including LTA and MOT.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on autonomous vehicle behaviour in mixed urban traffic environments
• Develop and validate simulation models for multi-modal transport systems
• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
• Collaborate with industry partners and government stakeholders
• Mentor PhD students and research assistants

Requirements

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong publication record in relevant research areas
• Experience with ROS, MATLAB/Simulink, or traffic simulation software (SUMO, VISSIM)
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Experience working in international, multi-disciplinary research teams is an advantage
