Research Scientist โ Urban Mobility & Autonomous Systems

TUM CREATE is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to join our Urban Mobility Systems cluster. You will contribute to cutting-edge research on connected and autonomous vehicles, multi-modal transport planning, and smart city integration, with applications specifically designed for Singapore’s high-density urban environment.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, computer scientists, and urban planners, you will design and execute research projects, publish findings in top-tier academic journals, and collaborate closely with Singapore government agencies including LTA and MOT.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on autonomous vehicle behaviour in mixed urban traffic environments
- Develop and validate simulation models for multi-modal transport systems
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with industry partners and government stakeholders
- Mentor PhD students and research assistants
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Strong publication record in relevant research areas
- Experience with ROS, MATLAB/Simulink, or traffic simulation software (SUMO, VISSIM)
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Experience working in international, multi-disciplinary research teams is an advantage
